Why doesn't it notify admin of new tickets?

Post by netbloke »

Script URL: http://www.wbbg.com/helpdesk/
Version of script: 0.94
Hosting company: Webuilders
URL of phpinfo.php: http://www.wbbg.com/helpdesk/phpinfo.php
URL of session_test.php: http://www.wbbg.com/helpdesk/session_test2.php
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:
admin notification, sending email

Write your message below:

I am just wondering why the script does not ask if the default admin gets email notifications"
"Notify me of new tickets and posts within my categories."

My secondary users have the choice and DO get the emails.

The administrator has no choice and gets no emails.

Any help would be appreciated!

I tried the suggestion in another post I found. I did this:

4. Download e-mail test file:
http://www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/email_test.zip
Open it in Notepad, set SENDER to the same address as $hesk_settings['noreply_mail'] and RECIPIENT to the same address you used to submit the ticket. Upload to server and open in browser. Do you get any mails to the RECIPIENT address?

I did not get any email at all. Any ideas?

Admin HAVE the option to receive e-mails or not, login as Admin and click the "Your profile" link. Make sure it's checked. Also if not already try setting your admin e-mail to something@wbbg.com

Ok I see the profile and it is selected to receive email.

Also it already is an "wbbg.com" email address

Still no luck. It does send emails to the people that create/submit tickets though.

Not sure why it doesn't work then, hard to say without having access to the server and seeing the logs.

My suggestion would be to contact your host, point them to the e-mail test file (http://www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/email_test.zip) and ask how come it doesn't send e-mails to your account.
