Hi,
when I made update of mod of hesk can be past many time from last update so I forget to not upload also English email template so I want protect this file from be overwritten.

I tried to remove write permission but when i check again there is always also write permission.
Is Mod of Hesk who set the write permission?

There is two road, first add in the update guide to not upload email files so when i follow the guide i skip to upload email file or there is a way to make that file not writeable so when I upload via FTP this file will be not replaced?

IT'S a problem because with time I forget upload mod of hesk will erase my email template.
Thanks

The easiest way to avoid overwriting templates would be this:

1. Unzip Mods for HESK
2. Delete the "emails" folder in /language/en
3. Install Mods for HESK

By deleting the emails folder before uploading, your templates should not be overwritten.

HI,
this for sure BUT you can understand I didn't do this all days and all month so many application to update and i forget the specific rule necessary for Mod of Hesk for not loose my settings.

So it's a problem.

Today I discovered all my English HTML template was resetted so lost logo and text, etc in all website.

When i follow update guide there is no indication to be aware to not overwite some file as this one. An update should not make user loose all.. or the update guide should have the folder to exclude from upload.

You don't have replied to my question:

Thank you for your fast reply.

Sorry, forgot about that question. I'm not an expert on how file permissions are transferred between devices; however, I would guess that yes, file permissions are set to what they are on my machine once I zip up the files for release. I will update the site when the next release is ready to warn users to backup (or to not overwrite) any files they have customized.

What you could do is create a FTP user that does not have access to modify the /en folder, which might prevent the user from overwriting the folder. However that is beyond the scope of my support.
