Can I use HTML in ticket replies?? kinda urgent pls help

Hi, i'm using the latest version of Hesk - all installed and working OK.

EASY QUESION

Can I turn on HTML in replies? if so, HOW?

To clarify, if i'm typing a sentance and want to bold one word, i can't use the usual <b> and </b> tags because they are just printed before and after the word i want in bold - i've tried other HTML tags and none work - how do I turn HTML ON please??

Surely this is a very easy thing to do and i'm just missing something here?

If it's an easy question how come you don't know the answer to it?

HTML is disabled for security reasons and you should not even try to enable it. Will see if I can add some code to process just bold/italic/underlined text in the next version.

Hi Klemen,

Whilst i appreciate your hesk program and like it very much so far, you can come across as a bit of a smart ass with comments like that. Look, i understand you get loads of messages on here and some are probably a waste of time to you, easy things that people should know already or take the time to learn.

I spent hours, literally hours yesterday reading every single post in this forum that remotely related to HTML in posts, also time was spent 'googling' the terms to see what I could find. I am new to this program and learning a lot from reading forums like these. I've learnt about BBcode too, and can't understand why that's not available in hesk.

From the knowledge i gained reading the posts on here, i can see there are some VERY smart and clever people on here, sometimes they even impress you i've noticed. That is why I posted my 'EASY QUESTION', i was certain MY question must be easy for one of you guys to answer - compared to some of the things I've read on here.

I totally understand the security implications of enabling HTML in posts - but there's not even an option to turn it off if you wanted too - i mean, why not allow HTML to be enabled just for 'admin' posts? I would love that option. Without the knowledge of how it works I can't do it myself. That's why I posted my question on here.

I already found a post in the Mboard forum where someone has managed to allow HTML to be used in posts by disabling the htmlspecialchars line of code (something like that, i can't remember the exact line right now) but i can't find this anywhere in any of the hesk php files.

I know you say this is free, but I actually wanted to pay the $20 and buy you beer for this, especially for your help, but it kinda feels like you're not really bothered. You know the answer to my original question, but yet you didn't give me the answer - and as for saying you'll think about adding some of the basic codes to the next version - well, again from reading other posts on here you never tell anyone when that'll be, sometimes months because this is only your 'pet project'. It's a real shame.

First of all I would expect you to have read the topic titled "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING":

There you will also find a link to an "How to Ask Questions the smart way" article that should give you an idea of what you did wrong and why people (like myself) give such "I don't care" replies. It's an interesting article to read, I do recommend that you have a look.

Second when starting a topic you get a template for posting. Most of the questions don't relate to your problem, but the "What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:" does to all posts. Or at least show some effort (I search this, read that, tried this, ...) just as you did now in your reply. Why would I be bothered if you don't even bother searching first yourself and show me what you tried so far?

Third you posted two topics with the word "urgent" in the subject. As you now understand all posts are treated with the same level of "urgency".

Fourth if you did read the "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING" topic then I don't know how this slipped your eyes:

Questions like Is this possible? How? will usually be ignored. Almost anything is possible with PHP/HTML/MySQL knowledge and we are not here to provide free programming services to individuals. Try it yourself, ask a friend that knows PHP, ...

Fifth it's a shame yes that I can't make a living with FREE scripts and FREE support, but that's how it is unfortunately. PHPJunkyard IS my pet project, I've said it many times before. I have a living to make and as you can imagine FREE scripts aren't the way to do that. And yes, it takes months before I release a new version because I can't just release a new version every week just because I added a small function that will maybe be used by a few people.

Sixth calling someone a smart ass isn't going to be very helpful, especially someone who you expect help from. Even if it's (sometimes) true.

I do admit it though, after reading hundreds of similar posts and thousands of e-mails asking for help I am tired of such posts and many times just by reading the topic subject I can get an idea if the post is worth some attention or not. And since you've read so much posts you know I can sometimes be a helpful guy... I hope
